ABL Progression Station Cards
Progression Station Cards make it easy to implement the 12 Foundations of Learning Readiness. Each set contains an activity with 2 station cards for easy implementation. Each student card has a picture of the activity and teacher cards have step by step instructions on how to completed the activity. Station cards can be used in a variety of settings including PK-2nd grade ABL Labs, gyms, day care centers and even classrooms.
The Action Based Learning™ Lab is a series of progressions and stations, each designed to prepare the brain for input and processing. Sensory components of balance, coordination, spatial awareness, directionality, and visual literacy are developed as the child rolls, creeps, crawls, spins, twirls, bounces, balances, walks, jumps, juggles, and supports his/her own weight in space.
Levels of physical fitness are increased and academic concepts are reinforced. As students move from station to station with a partner or partners, they experience greater self-awareness, heightened self-esteem, and improved social skills. As a result of a student moving through the station progressions, he/she will experience challenge, feedback, and physical activity, three components that are necessary for optimal brain function.
The unique, innovative Action Based Learning™ Lab is research-based, brain and body compatible, kid-friendly, teacher-friendly, and time efficient. The comprehensive program will include a curriculum based on national academic standards for Pre-K through second grade levels. Explanations, directions, supporting research, videos, music CDs, equipment lists, and training support are included in the package.
Many schools use the ABL Lab not only in the gym, but also in a separate classroom, on the stage, in a hallway, in a portable building or on the playground. The Lab may be used in whole or in part. Each progression in each station builds upon the last progression, so sequence of progressions is encouraged.
